Join us for an inspirational learning experience on the farm, in a historic country park, on a national nature reserve; even on the beach! The Trust manages sites with a variety of habitats including: woodland, seashore, farmland, grassland, and streams. There are four main sites for group visits, however there are many other sites that can offer great learning opportunities too.  You can choose from a half day, full day or more than one day (by staying at our residential centre Warren Barn).

School Day Visits

We host hundreds of school visits and groups every year with around 7,000 children and adults enjoying Ranger led activities across our sites.

We offer safe access to high quality environments led by staff that are trained and experienced in running a wide range of activities which can be tailored to your requirements and linked to your curriculum or interests.

Our four main sites offer a range of learning opportunities:

  • Occombe Farm – farmland, woodland, cookery school, vegetable garden;
  • Cockington Country Park – parkland, woodland, stream, historical;
  • Berry Head NNR – headland, Napoleonic Fort;
  • Goodrington Sands – sandy & rocky shore.

Residential Visits

Our residential centre, Warren Barn, is a camping barn located in the grounds of Cockington Country Park close to Torquay. The barn lies in a secluded wooded valley, close to Cockington Village, surrounded by 450 acres of country park.

The barn is within walking distance to the beach, which makes it the ideal base for coastal and countryside residential visits and group holidays. The barn sleeps 40; it has a woodburner with large communal area for group meals; two large dormitories and two smaller bedrooms; and three bathrooms. There is a large outside courtyard area with a campfire.
