This interactive experience is a great opportunity to learn new skills\, have fun\, get involved in practical gardening tasks\, and contribute to the care of our Community Garden. \nDates / Times\nSessions are 2 and a half hours starting at 10:00am until 12:30pm on each of the following days: \n\nSaturday 5th April\nSunday 6th April\nSaturday 12th April\nSunday 13th April\n\nLocation\nOccombe Farm Community Garden. \nMeeting Point – Occombe Farm Park & Play entrance\, 10 minutes before the session starts. \nDirections & Parking details here: Directions & Parking – Occombe Farm \nWhat to Expect\nDuring this session\, you can expect to take part in activities like these: \n\nSow a variety of seeds to take home and grow on your windowsill or in your garden.\nPot up additional seeds to be grown in our Community Garden.\nSow vegetable seeds for our polytunnels\, helping to prepare for the growing season.\nPlant pre-grown seedlings into raised beds\, using plants grown either at Occombe or by visiting schools.\nAdd soil and compost to polytunnel beds to enrich the soil for future crops.\nTake part in essential garden maintenance\, including weeding and clearing beds to create space for planting. This may also include preparing the top garden for a wildflower meadow.\nLearn how to use basic gardening tools safely and effectively.\nWater newly planted seeds and polytunnels to support healthy growth\n\nYou’ll need to bring sturdy footwear and layered clothing to ensure you’re prepared for all weather conditions. \nBook\nTickets are free as they have been funded by the Lottery Community Fund. They’re moulded into balls and then the fun bit; we throw them at the ground!
