SUMMARY:A guided walk through history at Berry Head
DESCRIPTION:Join us for walk through time at Berry Head National Nature Reserve\, a key site for the UNESCO Global Geopark with stunning wildlife\, amazing plants and more recent incredible history to share which can all be linked to back to our extraordinary geology. \nThis unique event will be led by the very knowledgeable local historian Philip Armitage who will introduce the site and its importance to UNESCO designation and guide you through a fascinating period in time featuring the Napoleonic military and archaeological history of our Berry Head Forts. \nThis event will include an exclusive guided walk of the Berry Head Forts plus an informative presentation delivered by Philip. \nPlease note: Minimum age 12 years and no dogs please. Remember to dress for the weather! Berry Head is an exposed location so wearing layers is recommended plus sturdy footwear as the limestone can be slippy underfoot. The route will be fairly level but there is a slight incline towards the South Fort and there will be limited opportunity to sit down throughout moving tour\, so reasonable level of mobility and stamina to stand is required. \n£15 Non Members. £10 Members \nLimited availability. Book early to avoid disappointment!

SUMMARY:Broadsands Winter Bird Walk
DESCRIPTION:Brush up on your Gull\, Diver and Grebes identification skills at Broadsands with local expert Mike Langman. The marsh is a great place for wintering chiffchaffs often of two subspecies; being sure of a positive identification is not easy but with help you’ll have a much clearer idea and there is always the chance of a rare Yellow-browed Warbler or Firecrest! The winter cirl bunting feeding station which Mike started 20 years ago will be visited for some great views of this ‘Devon Bunting’. Mike is a renowned wildlife artist and bird watcher – see www.mikelangman.co.uk .
