At some point early on Wednesday 14th September the coast path above St Mary's Bay, between Berry Head and Sharkham Point suffered from a landslide. This has damaged a section of steps which, in the interests of public safety, has meant this section has had to be closed.
A diversion now runs inland for 1.4m between the steps at the top of St Marys Bay and just north of the Riviera Bay Holiday Park. A information sign with map, denoting the diversion, is now in place at each of the closure points. The diversion will be signed and fully operational from 12pm on Saturday 17th September.
The Trust is working with all parties involved to ensure this closure is as short term as possible.
