Are you interested in the diverse and strange world of fungi? Do you know your Wax Cap from your Earth Star, or heard of Blewit or Jew's Ear? To find out more, come and search for a range of weird and amazing fungi at Berry Head National Nature Reserve with expert Dr Christian Taylor.
The workshop begins with a talk on the fascinating biology of the fungal kingdom, then continues by exploring the headland to collect some edible finds to be used later for a cook up. Once collected, there will be a lunch break at the Guardhouse Café to enjoy a bowl of soup, crusty roll and a mushroom taster platter. There will then be a tasting of the results of the fungal foraging with a concluding discussion and a Q&A.
