Bake your own traditional German festive bread, with fragrant spices, rum-soaked fruits, almond paste and rich, yeasty dough. The Christmas gift everyone loves. At the Dresden Stollen Festival, the world’s largest stollen is paraded through the streets. It takes 60 bakers almost a week to make, and it is getting on for 4m long. Handily, ours will be family sized, and you can make it by yourself! Yeasted dough, cardamom and nutmeg, macerated fruits and hand-made almond paste, all rolled up into a fruit bread that’s a treat any time of the year. Also learn how to make brioche for a wonderful Christmas breakfast.
