As part of the InVOLve Project the Trust has set up a Community Environmental Resource Centre which will support the volunteering, training and community group activities. This is located at Cockington Court in the stable yard and links in with the other sustainability activities of the Trust, including:
The organic garden behind Cockington Court and sustainable horticulture project
The Edge education Programme based at the Gamekeeper’s Cottage in Cockington Country Park
The Seashore Centre at Goodrington Sands
Berry Head National Nature Reserve.
The Resource Centre is open to Trust Volunteers through the week and Trust Members who need to book a time with Julian Carnell.

Ring 01803 606035 or volunteer@countryside-trust.org.uk
It contains:
Books
Videos
CD ROMs
Magazines and journals
IT facilities and access to the internet
It is also the base for wildlife recording and workshops.

Wildlife Recording
The 2003 workshops have focused on wildlife identification and recording. We have held two biological recording software training days at paignton Library and volunteers have now started entering data in to the software at the Reource Centre. We are using Recorder 2002 which is based on a Microsoft Access database. If you have experience with Access you should have no problem using Recorder. We are starting by entering the data from the 1991 Torbay Wildlife Survey which we will use as a baseline. We need more volunteers to help with this.

If you have records then you can email them to us at resourcecentre@countryside-trust.org.uk. Ideally we need the following info:
species
location
grid reference
habitat
number or abundance
time of day
We have a good library of ID guides in the Centre.

If you would like your own copy of Recorder to enter your records in at home then you can purchase it through the Trust for £20 from Sally Rankin a Recorder Reseller. It comes with a very helpful Tutorial on the CDROM.
