OCCOMBE FARM TO HOST SUMMER MUSIC FESTIVAL

Occombe Farm, Paignton, have unveiled plans to hold a two-day summer music festival at the popular open farm over the August bank holiday weekend, on 28 & 29 August.

Plans for the weekend festival have been coming together since last year, as a result of numerous requests for a second Occombe Beer Festival, one of Torbay's most popular events, which takes place at the farm in early June.

Rachel Tapper, Event organiser for the Trust that manages Occombe, said "We looked at holding a repeat Beer Festival in the summer but wanted to do something different - and to make it something everyone could enjoy. We've picked a range of music to suit most tastes and there are some really talented performers booked. There will be plenty happening elsewhere at Occombe too so if an act on stage isn't for you then you'll find something else to enjoy in the meantime, and the real ale fans won't miss out either with addition of a Bays bar. "

The artists performing include X Factor finalist Laura White headlining, who recently toured the UK supporting Peter Andre; funk/soul band Session One, made up of top UK professional musicians; rock/blues band The Fortunate Sons; 3 piece power trio, The Indie Killers; Best Male Soloist and People's Choice Award winner Vince Freeman; rock/pop singer Maria Jordan, local indie pop band the Iconyx; UK rock artist Natascha Sohl; Latino style Lava band; Singer and songwriter Afrika Fuentes; and ten-piece Blackdown Steel Band. Also at the festival will be a Bays brewery bar, delicious Devon food, a Kids Zone and a Culture Zone with various activities taking place.

Tickets go on sale for the Music Festival at Occombe Beer Festival (4 & 5 June) at 25% off on the day for Beer Festival goers. Tickets will also be available in advance online at www.occombemusicfestival.co.uk and from Occombe Farm Shop. Day passes are £15 for adults, £8 for youths (aged 13-17) and £5 for children (aged 3-12). The festival opens at 12pm Saturday 28thand Sunday 29th, until 11pm.
