NEW CHILDREN'S MEMBERSHIP CLUB LAUNCHED
A membership club aimed at getting children out and about enjoying the natural environment in Torbay is being launched today. Torbay Coast & Countryside Trust are behind the new Nature Rangers Club - which involves 26 fortnightly challenges for kids, based around the local wildlife on our doorsteps. Challenges will include spider spotting and bat hunts; building bird feeders and nest boxes; rockpooling and seed-sowing; fire-lighting and pond-dipping. Julian Carnell, Community & Education Manager for the Trust said "The new Nature Rangers Club is something we have wanted to set up for a long time and it's a great way to help celebrate Torbay Coast & Countryside Trust's 10th Birthday in 2010. The challenges will get children taking part in all sorts of fun activities and will help motivate the whole family to get out and enjoy Torbay's beautiful open spaces." The Trust are giving away a free Children's Membership to the first two people who can e-mail the correct answer to the following question "Where in Torbay is the Devil's Armchair found?" Answers should be sent to info@countryside-trust.org.uk Annual membership of the Trust's Nature Rangers Club costs just £12 with a discount for current Trust members. Membership includes a Poster Pack with 26 stickers to track progress when challenges are completed, access to the Nature Rangers web pages and a free Sutton Seeds Fun to Grow plant (while stocks last).
