For school groups we can take up to 60 children (2 classes) and sometimes, if booked far enough in advance and a third Ranger is available, we may be able to take up to 90 children (but not at Occombe Farm).

There will be a maximum group size of 30 children to 1 Ranger and sometimes we are able to provide a ratio of 1 Ranger to every 15 children.

Except for the Seashore Centre, different activities can be run at the same time for different groups so all the children are occupied for the whole visit.

We follow Torbay and Devon County Council's guidelines for adult to child ratios in the outdoors doing fieldwork activities. That is 1 adult: 6 children for under 8 year olds and 1: 15 for over 8 year olds. Thus we require the visiting group leader to bring as many helpers as necessary to fulfill the relevant ratio.
