Sunshine and Showers
17th July 2010
Greetings gardeners!(and non-gardening interested parties)!
The last few weeks have been amazingly busy! The change in the weather, with the occasional down pours has led to rapid growth. The produce in the garden has come on amazingly and we have now harvested courgettes, potatoes, chillies, carrots peas and a constant stream of salad!
We've been busy with many different projects, one of which was a green furniture making course led by local artist Jack Tree. A group of volunteers enjoyed a day of creativity and produced two splendid benches fit for a king.
The garden is coming together nicely with plenty of produce growing and being planted. We have a busy few weeks ahead with South West in Bloom visiting us on Tuesday, and our Managing Pests and Diseases talk on Sunday, led by Tom Petherwick, former head gardener at The Lost Gardens of Heligan. See http://www.countryside-trust.org.uk/events.cfm for booking details.
Please feel free to pop along to one of our volunteer days; every Thursday, and every last Saturday of the month. Happy growing.
