Bushcraft Fun!
10th April 2010
Our family bushcraft event was fully booked this week, we had fantastic weather for the groups to enjoy the day. Dan Nuttall led the event and is an expert in many aspects of bushcraft and wild camping. This family event was an introduction to the concepts of bushraft and the groups enjoyed learning the art of firelighting - particularly the fire steel! They also prepared and cooked some unleven bread, and then built a shelter only using what they could find in the woods.
The bat walk last night was also fully booked, it was the earliest we have run one, usually waiting until later in spring. However the gamble paid off as the group were treated to a great show of Lesser and Greater Horseshoe Bats and Pipistrelle whizzing about. The evening was lovely and calm its always nice to enjoy the site late in the evening as the stars come out.
