Occombe Farm Craft Bakery
The Organic Bakery is located on the first floor of the
Visitor Centre. It supplies a range of freshly baked breads and pastries to the Farm Shop and Café.
Bread symbolises the everyday connection that we all have with the land and the differences between organic and non-organic or conventional approaches. |

Our Bakery
With a team of dedicated bakers producing organic fresh breads for
the farm shop and café restaurant we really are providing the very
best and freshest baked produce around. Family white loaves, family
wholemeal loaves and baguettes and rolls are available through the farm shop.
The organic flour is from Shipton Mill which has stood on the banks of the
river Avon for over 900 years. Each generation using traditional methods and
producing flour in the time honoured way. Organic wheat grown without the use
of chemicals, only the finest parcels chosen, gives this flour the fullest flavour
and the best baking results.
Produced from wheat grown to the standards approved by the
Soil Association and the Organic Farmers and Growers Association
means that the wheat is grown on fields that have had no chemical
fertilisers or sprays used on them for two years before sowing commences.
From then on the fields remain chemical free
The grain ground at Shipton Mill and used by our bakers, provide organic
wholewheat flours that are wholesome in texture and flavour with a well
established reputation among Master Bakers up and down the country.
